My primary occupation is a tax examiner. If we are examining a case
and a taxpayer has demonstrated they are entitled to claim business
mileage they need to provide odometer readings to back up their mileage
logs.

Unfortunately people do not get their vehicle serviced on January 1st
of each year so we may need to extrapolate total mileage. The math is
not hard, but it is repetitive, and after we do the math we need to
document it. I decided to save myself some time.

The form below can be used to provide short blurbs which can be copied
into our documentation, it gives me some practice programming, and
provides some useful information about dates. I hope you find it useful.

Dates should be in the form: m/d/yy. Do not use commas in numbers.
Minimal error checking is done to prevent exploits but this is not
reflected in output, in other words, garbage in gives garbage out.
The library used for dates will assume the dates are between 1/1/1969
and 12/31/2068. If you are interested in source code please see

• Enter a date to get info about that date.
• Enter multiple dates to get the number of days between the dates.
• If you input a year with dates and mileage compute annual mileage.
• If you input a year without dates or mileage determine if it is a leap year.
• If you input business mileage and rate compute allowable expense.
